One of the strengths of college radio was the freedom to play
what was good music based on the popular tastes of our audience,
not on a chart from an industry magazine. We were creating our
own chart, which became a yardstick for the other stations and
the country. Check this playlist. It was "cutting edge"
in 1982. This music was only played by college radio. In 1997, it
is the "D" rotation of every rock station in the
country.
