Sniff, Sniff.... Time to go Home.
It really has been a great trip.
Back in Kraków we have been walking the
town and seeing the sights we missed. There are a few more we need
to see -- or see again and this time capture on video.
We
visited the Wieliczka Salt Mines, where you travel 135 meters (about 400
feet) below the surface to see a series of salt sculptures and rooms left
behind by hundreds of years of salt mining. The images to the left
are in a chapel completely made of salt. Even the crystals in the
chandelier are crystal salt.
The church interior at the right is St.
Florian's Church, where Pope John Paul II was a parish priest many years
ago, and where we were married -- not that many years ago.
At the right top is St Florian's Gate,
leading to the market square and St. Mary's Church, one of the most famous
Gothic Cathedrals in the world. (right, second from top)
The inside has been completely restored and cleaned (right, bottom).
You can spend hours looking at all the ornate paintings, carvings and
stained glass.
This time we have a little video for you.
Just a quick walk out the front gate and across the street to the market
and St. Mary's. The Quality isn't that great, but we are making do
for those with a lack of bandwidth. Heck, even this small it's 1.7
MB, so if you have a slow modem don't click unless you have time to get a
cup of coffee.

you dare
Back to work on Tuesday morning, and back
to school in just a few weeks. Then we start planning next year's
Adventure...
