Greetings From Kraków, Poland!

The flight over was a good one.
It went quick and there were no bumps.  Day and night were very close together.  It felt good to get a good night's sleep once on the ground.

Monika's parents live right in the middle of the old town, so it is a quick walk to all the sights. It seems that every time we come there is something new open to the public or something that is being rebuilt. We have already spent two days "wandering the town" looking at Waweł Castle and the sights of the old town.  Many of the older buildings that were covered with centuries of grime have been cleaned for the first time in many years.  Historical buildings are getting a face lift.  St. Mary's Church in the Market Square is sporting a shiny new roof. Gone are the old asphalt streets and in their place are cut stones.  Not exactly original, but nicer for the tourists.

We'll leave the old town on Thursday for a resort area outside the city for a couple of days.  This is a guaranteed method to get us away from civilization for awhile.  Today there is an Internet cafe every few blocks in the Old Town.  It makes it easy to communicate but hard to escape the reach of technology.

Perhaps more from us in a week or so.
Until then, enjoy a few photos.
