We made it to the South Rim just in time for sunset.  The South rim is much more commercial and "developed". It even has a shuttle bus system to take you between the many hotels and buildings along the rim.

I guess it is because the view is better and the access is easier.  We got up the next morning before the sun came up to see the canyon at sunrise.

We weren't the only ones up early. The Mule Deer were awake and eating breakfast along the rim.
