Graceland - Memphis, Tennessee
Back Home Up

How would it be possible to go to Memphis, TN and not stop and see Graceland?  I had always heard of this place, and I figured it would be worth seeing (although I am not sure the kids and Monika would agree.)

It was funny because the house we had previously toured was that of Waite Phillips, who was wealthy and had a very nice taste in Southwest fashion.

I am sorry to say that Elvis had the best sense of fashion in a "trailer trash" sort of way.  Maybe it was just the 1970's "American" style and this was the epitome of it.

Here are my two personal favorites.  The nalgahide yellow and black TV room is depicted below (note the mirror ceiling.)  Beneath that is the "Jungle Room" where Elvis actually recorded part of his final album, "Moody Blue".
