How
would it be possible to go to Memphis, TN and not stop and see Graceland?
I had always heard of this place, and I figured it would be worth seeing
(although I am not sure the kids and Monika would agree.)
It was funny because the house we
had previously toured was that of Waite Phillips, who was wealthy and had
a very nice taste in Southwest fashion.
I am sorry to say that Elvis
had the best sense of fashion in a "trailer trash" sort of way.
Maybe it was just the 1970's "American" style and this was the epitome of
it.
Here are my two personal
favorites. The nalgahide yellow and black TV room is depicted below
(note the mirror ceiling.) Beneath that is the "Jungle Room" where
Elvis actually recorded part of his final album, "Moody Blue".
