First Stop - Hershey PA

Label for Hershey's Chocolate from 1915-1929 - "More Sustaining than Meat"What can I say.  This place is way too commercial for me.   Lots of rides and way too much money for something that is "fun".  I would rather go hiking in a quiet forest rather than be in a noisy, plastic amusement park.  If you like that sort of thing though, see the Official Hershey Web Site.

Apostolic ClockThe Museum was interesting.  Lots of items from the early years of Hershey.  One of the more interesting exhibits was that of an  apostolic clock from the 1800's.   Apparently this clock was built by a man who had never built a clock before.   It disassembles into three pieces, and the gentleman who built it would put it in a wagon and travel the fairs, selling admission for two-bits.  A big number in the 1890's.  The clock shows the Apostles and Jesus going in a circle - the Devil constantly in the background.  An amazing piece of work for its time.  I wish I had more details, but there was no "take along" from the exhibit and I can't seem to find any information about this clock on the web.
