Here's Where We Went:

The map is from http://www.mapsonus.com
which is a great place to go if you are planning a route and you need distances or
directions. You can't see all the stops here, but we went to:
 | Hershey Pennsylvania - We
didn't go to the amusement park. This is too "trashy" and we don't like
them as a family. I don't mind amusement parks, Monika hates them and the kids are
ambivalent. We did go to the
Chocolate
World tour though as well as the
Museum.
Funny how the walkways are designed to funnel all the people into the Park and not into
the Museum...
|
 | Gettysburg Museum - We
stopped at the National Park Service Museum
in Gettysburg where we saw the Cyclorama
and the Electric Map. A very interesting place once you learn a bit of the history.
One thing always amazes me about that battlefield: In 1863 over three days in July
over 50,000 people were killed/wounded. From 1959-1975 57,000 people were killed in
Vietnam. Think about it.

Fallingwater
- Built by the Kaufman family (as in department stores) by Frank Lloyd Wright in the
1930's. The building is on top of a waterfall (the waterfall does not run through
the house as some people believe.) This place looks very modern, almost as if it was
built in the 1960's. Hard to believe it is more like 60 years old.

SeaWorld of Ohio
- (Now closed) - This was the goal of the trip. It was a good place to go, but way to commercial.
We did take a behind the scenes tour that was interesting. It is interesting
to see all of the different animals, but I would rather see them in the wild. The
kids did have a good time though.
|
 | Niagara
Falls - We last went there when Anna was little. Ten years is a long
time, and Eva and Maria have never seen the Falls, so we decided to stop there on the way
to see Grandma and Grandpa...
|
 | Rush, NY - My home town
and still the home of my parents. I was last there in 1993 so it was good to go back
and see my roots. Anna got to drive a tractor, and we went to a few interesting
places.
